It has been a lifelong dream of mine to travel to London and work as a submissive. My first Master was an English gentleman and perhaps because of this I have a thing for English Masters. I also think in a way I am returning to the scene of the crime, where all the corporal punishment originated in. I recently watched The Tudors and understand a bit better now why the English are so kinky. We have the Catholic church to thank for a lot of the rituals and ceremony that lead to all the bloodshed, fear, rebellion, bondage, torture and patriachy that makes BDSM thrive today. Every society is fast breaking away from the old adage that if you physically hurt someone they will learn. Actually it’s now considered abuse and illegal in all schools in Australia. Being punished during your adolescent years I believe is responsible for fetishes later in life. Sometimes its the first physical interaction experience. Most of the Masters I see were exposed to some form of punishment – even if just witnessing it being done to someone else, during their adolescence – a time where the brain is open and learning so much so fast. Add puberty to that and VOILA! We have learned experiences of curiosity blended with new and sexual feelings all trying to work themselves out at the same time. I love the concept of shame shaping our sexual fantasies. The best way to humiliate someone is to shame them, to make them genuinely feel bad. You can yell at me all you want to get me to submit to you, you can make up stories of things I’ve done wrong so you can punish me but if you actually get to my centre and break me down emotionally then I will submit completely. This psychological side of D/s is the most exciting.
The umbrella of social conservatism through history has negatively shaped our society. Some cultures have come off worse than others. I found this interesting article below that explains a little more about whats going on in America and how this shame, (Christian right wing conservatives) negatively impacts on all aspects of their culture.
How sexual prudery makes America a less healthy and happy place.
